The Wild Hunt, or Wraiths of Mörhogg as they are brought in Skellige, was broadly accepted to be a gathering of ghosts dashing in the sky. They were depicted by regular society as a procession of phantoms on undead ponies jogging across the sky and filling in as a sign of war. Indeed, they are a gathering of Aen Elle mythical beings from Tir ná Lia who likewise consider themselves the Dearg Ruadhri in their local Elder Speech, which means Red Riders. They are driven by the general, and later lord, Eredin Bréacc Glas, ordinarily known as the King of the Wild Hunt.
Their actual object was to discover and catch slaves from different universes, for example, that of the Aen Seidhe, to serve the Alder Folk. Nonetheless, they in the end put their focus on Ciri for her Elder Blood.
