Doctor Strange 2 has a seriously cool title — Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness — but other details are being disguised as the Time Stone (well, other than when he gave it to Thanos).

The sequel was announced back at Comic-Con in 2019 and had some delays in its release date, director changes (from Scott Derrickson to Sam Raimi, with Loki’s Michael Waldron taking over as writer) and other delays.  influenced every film around.

That sounds great to us, but if you want to know more about what to expect from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, we’re here to help you out with everything we know about the upcoming MCU sequel.

Doctor Strange 2 Release Date: When will Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness arrive?

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was originally scheduled for release on May 7, 2021, but with everything going on in the world, plans had to change and it is now fixed for a March 25, 2022 release.

Filming took place between November 2020 and April 2021, with a slight delay in early 2021 due to increased restrictions in the UK (where it was being filmed).

Doctor Strange 2 Plot: What will happen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness?

Plot details are thin on the ground, but we at least have a summary:

“Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Dr. Stephen Strange continues his research on the Time Stone. But an old friend-turned-foe sabotages his plans and causes Strange to uncover unspeakable evil.”

We hoped WandaVision would clarify things a bit, with many hoping for a Doctor Strange cameo, but that never happened. It is still thought that the series has set up a sequel, we just don’t know how yet.

Since the film begins after the events of the show, we’re left wondering whether she’d be helping Doctor Strange in the way she needed the help of a variety of shenanigans, or if she was the one who caused them in the first place. was about to do

As far as how the Multiverse of Madness works within the wider MCU — which now includes Disney+ TV shows — Feige revealed that there is definitely a connection between the Loki series and the Doctor Strange sequel. He will be the one who lives and his forms, we believe.

Feige also revealed that the show is a must-watch if you want to be caught in time for the movies: “These episodes will intersect with the movies in a very big way. It’s a completely new form of storytelling with which we have to. gets to play and explore,” he explained (via Variety).

Doctor Strange 2 Trailer: When will the Doctor Strange trailer in the Multiverse of Madness go online?

Marvel has confirmed it is skipping Virtual Comic-Con this year, so we’ll be waiting a while for the first trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

It may well be that it landed with Shang-Chi’s release in September or Eternals in November, but right now, we just don’t know. We will keep this page updated with all the latest details though when we know, you will know.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is released in theaters on 25 March 2022.

Doctor Strange 2 Cast: Who Will Be Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness?

Benedict Cumberbatch is returning as Doctor Strange, but we’ll actually see him in the MCU before this movie as he appears in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Will his presence in that film set up this sequel? We’ll have to wait and see.

Cumberbatch will be joined by some familiar MCU faces in the sequel and we’ll start with the most exciting: Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff.

It was confirmed at Comic-Con 2019 that following the dramatic events of WandaVision, Olsen would reprise her role as Wanda Maximoff, who we should now call Scarlet Witch.

Olsen teased that the WandaVision finale is a “complete tee-up for my character” in the sequel. However, she also confirmed that she didn’t receive the Doctor Strange 2 story until two weeks before WandaVision wrapped.

She said: “I really wish there was a plan that someone shared with me a little bit sooner [laughs].” With the scene after the credits of WandaVision seeing her studying the Darkhold, would this mean that Scarlet Witch would be an antagonist in the film?

Chiwetel Ejiofor confirmed in June 2020 that he would return in the sequel as Mordo, as the plot synopsis originally confirmed. His description as “turned from old friend to foe” suggests that he would proceed with his dark turn in the scene after the credits of the first film.

The main theory is that he will either return as Doctor Strange’s reluctant ally (especially if the Scarlet Witch becomes the ‘Madness’ who is building the Multiverse in the first place), or he will be Nightmare’s secondary adversary, as Most superhero movies have multiple villains.

Many assumed that Rachel McAdams would return as Strange’s kind of love-interest Christine Palmer, and in December 2020 it was officially confirmed that she would return as Wong alongside Benedict Wong.

Baby-Sitters Club star Xochital Gomez is joining the cast as comics fan-favorite America Chavez, while Sam Raimi regular Bruce Campbell has hinted heavily at a cameo role in the sequel as well.

As far as Tilda Swinton’s return as an Ancient is concerned, she’s technically dead, so we’re unlikely to see her in Doctor Strange 2. But then again, it’s a variety of madness so you never know.

Also, after Loki’s big final reveal, we’d be surprised if Jonathan Majors (so far only confirmed for Ant-Man: Quantumia) doesn’t somehow pop up as one or more variants of Who Remains.
