Coca-Cola is set to change the taste of soda once again and its fans are already in a tizzy. The company announced the news on Tuesday and promised even more iconic flavors for a new version of its ‘Coke Zero’. The last time it changed the flavor of its soda was in 1985.
New Delhi: If you are a big fan of Coca-Cola and love their cola drink, you would like to prepare yourself for a change. The renowned soft drink maker is all set to change the recipe for your favorite soda drink. The last time the company changed the flavor of its soda was in 1985.
According to the New York Times, Coca-Cola announced Tuesday that it is changing the flavor and appearance of one of its most popular soft drinks: Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, better known as Coke Zero. They said they’re doing this in an effort to make the drink taste more like regular Coke. The appearance of the product will also be changed as it will leave its current red and black color and assume a reddish appearance.
The news has left many Coke lovers worried and apprehensive as they took to social media and expressed their views on the development. While some consumers vowed to switch to other drinks, others threatened to turn to drinks from Pepsi, the arch rival of Coca-Cola.
The new version will be released this month in the United States and will hit Canada in September. Coca-Cola has already updated the product in some international markets, leaving many of its consumers wondering why Coke is messing with their beloved beverage. Some customers also recalled the 1995 failure when Coca-Cola launched a new version of the soft drink ‘New Coke’, which was labeled as ‘too sweet’ and rejected by the public.
